The
Honorable Right Reverend William E. Fox, Jr., Ph.D., was elevated
to Bishop on May 2nd, 2008 and appointed to the position of Presiding
Bishop of Trinity Full Gospel Ministries for the State of California.
As such, Bishop Fox was directed to prepare a Coat of Arms that
best illustrates the events in his life that led to his call to
oversee the ordination and consecration of those placed in his care.
Warrior:
Bishop Fox served in The United States Navy for 27 years. The blue
and gold colors in the shield illustrate that service. The two Dolphins
on each side that guard the shield illustrate the pair of dolphins
that are part of the US Navy Submarine Service breast insignia that
also illustrate that same guarding function when Bishop Fox served
in submarines.
Scholar:
Bishop Fox earned his Ph.D. in Human Development in 1992 by studying
the Danish theologian Soren Kiekegaard's concept of Spheres of Meaning
and how a life lived without Christ ultimately leads to a life of
despair.
Servant:
The anchor at the base of the Cross illustrates the anchoring function
that Christ has provided Bishop Fox since the indwelling of the
Holy Spirit occurred within him in 1986. The dove at the top of
the Cross illustrates that indwelling, and the phrase within banner
at the bottom of the Coat of Arms illustrates how that indwelling
occurs.
The
open Bible and praying hands within the shield illustrate from where
Bishop Fox will draw strength and discernment to carry out God's
plan for those placed under his care.
The
yellow roses that drape the shield are in memory of Viola Durham
Fox, his mother, who often prayed for him before he was born, and
then prayed for him everyday until the day she died ... July 4th,
1986. The single yellow rose between the banners represents the
precious gift that God brought into his life after God had allowed
30 months of severe and prolonged physical and mental cleansing
to occur. This period of tough love allowed by Christ was necessary
so that Bishop Fox would no longer follow his own selfish nature,
but instead would follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. That single
yellow rose represents his wife, sweetheart, best friend, and life
partner, Linda Lou Blaemers Fox ... truly a gift from God!
